LITURGY INTENTIONS - Liturgies are offered for many reasons: for the souls in purgatory, in remembrance for someone who is deceased, in honor of a birthday or special anniversary, offering of thanksgiving, and many more reasons. Liturgy stipends / offerings that are given, signify the sacrificial nature of giving of yourself to associate more intimately with Christ who offers himself in the Eucharist. If you would like to offer a Liturgy, please contact the Parish Office by phone or email for help with available dates and times.

Please see the MYA Medicine Drive for Lebanon flyer in the foyers of the Church regarding a medication drive for Lebanon. There is a secured bin in the main foyer for any donations to this cause. Please see Miriam Chouki or the priest for any further information.

HAFLI - We are having a fundraiser for the Church’s property insurance. We need to collect $9,000.00. On Saturday, December 17th in the Church Hall we hope to collect a good portion of this amount by holding a Hafli. If you can help in any capacity please see the priest. More information to follow …

Volunteers are needed to help at the Coffee Social. You don’t have to bring anything. Your help is needed in making the coffee and setting up. Also, your help is needed in emptying the coffee makers, cleaning up, and taking out the trash.

This is your Church, your coffee, and your trash. Please help out in doing your part. Again, this is YOUR Church.

WHATSAPP: The Church is trying to get a whats app calling list together to send announcements from the Church. The Church will continue to use the weekly bulletin, the Church’s website, and emails to express the Church news. This is another means to communicate the messages. Please see Aline Khoury or the priest to get your mobile phone number on this list. Thank you.

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PARTY - There will be a Children’s Christmas party in the Church Hall after Liturgy on Sunday, December 11th . Donations will be accepted - cupcakes, goodies, and etc. Please bring you and your families to the Liturgy. Do not be disrespectful by just coming to the party.

CHRISTMAS TREE GIVING - We will be collecting new items to be given to the local shelters. Items collected will be hats, gloves, scarves, socks, towel sets, bath robes, and slippers. Items will be placed in front of St. Sharbel’s altar.

Last day to bring items is Sunday, December 18th . Thank you

BISHOP’S VISIT - On Saturday evening, December 10th, we will be graced by a visit from our Shepherd, the Most Reverend Bishop Gregory J. Mansour. He will be with us for an evening of Liturgy and for a light reception afterwards in the Church Hall. We will be having a POT LUCK DINNER that evening.

Please see the priest for more information or if you would like to help.

CHRISTMAS FLOWERS AND CHRISTMAS LITURGIES INTENTIONS - It is that time of the year again. Already there have been Christmas flower donations and Liturgy intentions being sent to the Church office. If you would like to donate Christmas flowers to decorate the Sanctuary for the Christmas Liturgies, please send an envelope with your name and your intention to the parish office, priest, or collection baskets. These names will be collected and offered at the Liturgies for Christmas.

We need help WITH SETTING UP THE CHRISTMAS NATIVITY (AND HELP TAKING IT DOWN AFTERWARDS) as well as the Christmas trees. If you are interested, please see the priest, Tarek Zoghby and / or Adrian Bassim.

The Maronite Youth Organization is going to be active in this Parish again.

The priest is looking for advisers to help with this very important ministry and organization for this Parish.

In the very near future we are hoping to have a MYO MOVIE NIGHT, MYO BOWLING, and a MYO TRIP TO LA SALETTE.

If you are interested in any aspect of this organization (adviser, youth to join, donor, or whatever) please see the priest.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------MAINTENANCE FUND - Just a friendly reminder, some of us have agreed several years ago to assist this Church in the upkeep of the physical facility. This cause was called Maintenance and Building Fund. Some parishioners pledged their assistance on a yearly basis. Last week, one family fulfilled their yearly pledge (as they have the previous years.) The Church desperately needs your commitment to continue to fulfill your pledges. If you have forgotten what you have pledged, please see the priest. Any assistance you can provide will be greatly appreciated and needed.

NATIVITY PLAY - This year we will be having a Nativity Play on Sunday, December 11th . All the children are invited to participate. Louisa “Lulu” Tannous is helping organize this event. There will be practice this Sunday after Liturgy.

Please see Rev. Alex or Lulu if your children are interested in participating.

Saturday Holy Hour - Starting Saturday, October 1st, and every Saturday for the remainder of the calendar year; there will be a silent Holy Hour of Adoration of the Eucharist offered at 2 PM until the 3:45 PM. Confessions will be available at the normal time on Saturdays at 3 PM. Please find the time to sit for at least 10 minutes one of these upcoming Saturdays. Just come bring yourselves (and your problems) and listen for the Lord.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WEEKDAY LITURGIES IN THE CHAPEL - PLEASE USE SIDE AND BACK DOORS.

May you have a safe and blessed week. Peace be with you, Rev. Alex Joseph
